Foxcombe Hall
Foxcombe Hall is a characterful university building that is truly unique to Oxford. With a rich history and a mix of gothic and contemporary architecture it is set amongst acres of protected woodland making it the perfect setting for garden party weddings.
Main Hall
This elegant room features historic wooden panelling, soaring ceilings adorned with chandeliers, a grand fireplace, and a beautiful balcony with a sweeping staircase making it the perfect entrance for a dramatic arrival. Rich in architectural character, it offers a timeless backdrop for your ceremony, reception, and evening celebration, ideal for couples seeking a romantic setting within a historic building.
Atrium
With its striking high glass ceiling and modern architecture, this light-filled space gives the feeling of being outdoors while offering the comfort of being fully sheltered. Flooded with natural light throughout the day, it transitions beautifully into the evening, allowing guests to experience the changing light as the sun sets, making it a stunning setting any part of the day.
Lawn
The expansive green space outside the Main Hall is framed by ancient trees and overlooks the peaceful protected woodlands. In the late afternoon, golden light floods the area allowing for beautiful photographs. It’s perfect for welcome drinks, lawn games, ceremonies or alfresco dining, creating the feel of a large, elegant garden party with a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.
Garden Room
An intimate space, the Garden Room is perfect for couples seeking a smaller ceremony with around 20 guests. It’s also versatile enough to be used as a children’s playroom or a quiet rest area during the day. With large windows that offer a view onto the lawn, the room provides a serene and peaceful setting.
Sunken Garden
The Sunken Garden boasts Italian-inspired features and eclectic sculptures. At its heart stands a magnolia tree, complemented by a wisteria-covered walkway above. This picturesque garden can be used for small outdoor ceremonies or for serving welcome drinks and canapés, as it’s the first space guests encounter upon entering.
Private Lake
The private lake is a tranquil haven, especially in the summer when it’s adorned with lily pads. Photographers can capture breathtaking aerial shots, and the small walkway leading into the lake makes stunning photos with the changing light throughout the day. Just a few moments’ walk from the lawn, it’s a rare space that allows you to feel fully immersed in secluded wild nature
Availability
Operating as a university during term time, Foxcombe Hall is available for weddings on summer weekends. This limited availability ensures that each event receives our full attention, allowing us to deliver bespoke and meticulously planned celebrations of the highest standard.
